Barnes Harvest Collection 6.5mm PRC 9.4 g / 145 gr Sierra Tipped GameKing hunting ammunition – 20 pieces #32401
The Barnes Harvest Collection in caliber 6.5 PRC is a powerful hunting load for medium and larger thin-skinned game. Barnes combines its own high load standards with the 9.4 g / 145 gr Sierra Tipped GameKing (TGK), which was specially developed for the performance of modern 6.5mm magnum cartridges. The used Sierra Tipped GameKing #4345 was specifically designed around the 6.5 PRC. The bullet combines a lead core and durable jacket with a polymer tip and an aerodynamically optimized high-BC profile. The design supports a flat trajectory, reduces air resistance, and is also designed for reliable expansion at hunting impact velocities. With a bullet weight of 145 gr and a ballistic coefficient of G1 0.597, the TGK uses the velocity potential of the 6.5 PRC particularly efficiently. Sierra also specifies a G7-BC of 0.291 for the bullet. Due to the high aerodynamic efficiency, velocity and energy are comparatively well maintained even at longer distances. Barnes specifies a muzzle velocity of 2,910 fps or about 887 m/s for the finished load. The muzzle energy is 2,727 ft-lb or about 3,697 J. At 200 yd / 182.9 m, the bullet still reaches about 793 m/s and about 2,956 J, at 300 yd / 274.3 m about 749 m/s and about 2,633 J. Even at longer distances, the load has considerable performance reserves: at 400 yd / 365.8 m Barnes still specifies about 705 m/s and 2,337 J, at 500 yd / 457.2 m about 664 m/s and 2,069 J. The Barnes trajectory table uses 200 yd as zero point. Barnes assigns this load to the use case Hunting as well as the categories Medium Game and Big Game. Note on bullet construction: This Harvest Collection load is not lead-free. A Sierra Tipped GameKing with lead core, jacket, and polymer tip is loaded. It is not a Barnes TSX, TTSX, or LRX copper bullet.
