SA AK-12 Carbine GBBR (SA-J21 VAPOR™) – Modern Gas Blow Back Airsoft Rifle by Specna Arms The SA AK-12 Carbine GBBR (SA-J21 VAPOR™) from Specna Arms combines the modern ergonomics of the AK-12 platform with a realistic gas blow-back system and a robust construction of steel, aluminum, and polymer. The VAPOR™ GBBR platform, developed together with Well Pro, is aimed especially at airsoft players who value not only precision and function but also the most authentic operation possible, a clearly noticeable recoil impulse, and realistic mechanical processes. With an overall length of about 860 mm, a weight of around 3,500 g, and a 320 mm long inner barrel, the carbine version offers a full-grown but still modern AK configuration. The gas operation with moving bolt, the 35-round magazine, and the modern AK-12 ergonomics make the SA-J21 VAPOR™ an interesting alternative for players who consciously seek a GBBR instead of a classic electrically operated AEG or S-AEG. The version intended for the German market is delivered exclusively with semi-automatic single-shot function according to legal requirements and has the required F marking in a pentagon. A fully automatic function present in international versions is not usable in the German F version. VAPOR™ GBBR Platform by Specna Arms and Well Pro The VAPOR™ gas blow-back series was developed in cooperation between Specna Arms and Well Pro. Unlike the well-known electrically operated Specna Arms models, the SA-J21 operates entirely with gas. Therefore, neither battery nor charger, electric motor, or classic AEG gearbox is needed. The green gas stored in the magazine powers both the BB and the movement of the bolt. With each shot, the system works mechanically and generates a clearly perceptible recoil impulse. Steel, aluminum, and polymer for a robust construction Specna Arms relies on a combination of steel, aluminum, and durable polymer in the construction. Particularly stressed external components are made of steel, while aluminum is used for internal parts. Modern attachments and ergonomic elements made of polymer complement the construction. With a weight of around 3,500 g, the SA AK-12 Carbine conveys a correspondingly solid and realistic handling. The weight, together with the mechanical bolt movement, significantly contributes to the authentic character of the GBBR system. The hop-up chamber is also made of metal. The nozzle, on the other hand, is made of polymer. This material combination is tailored to the requirements of a gas blow-back system, where numerous components are mechanically moved during each firing cycle. Realistic gas blow back with strong recoil impulse The gas blow-back system is one of the most important features of the SA-J21 VAPOR™. With each shot, the bolt is pushed back by the gas and then moved forward again. This not only creates visible movement but also a clearly noticeable recoil impulse. The operation is therefore significantly different from an AEG. Magazine changes, loading, and mechanical processes play a much bigger role and provide the typical GBBR experience. Especially players who already use gas blow-back pistols and want this operating principle in a rifle will find a suitable long gun platform with the VAPOR™ series. NPAS for power adjustment A particularly interesting technical feature is the integrated NPAS system. This allows the gas amount or power to be adjusted within the technically intended adjustment range. This can be helpful, for example, to adapt the platform to different playing conditions or permitted field limits. For the German F version, the legal requirements must of course be observed. Changes must not lead to leaving the legally permitted configuration of the marked airsoft gun. The actual muzzle energy can vary in a GBBR system depending on the version and delivery batch. Additionally, the gas used, gas and ambient temperature, BB weight, hop-up setting, and other environmental conditions influence the measured performance. Therefore, the specific German F version of the delivered model is decisive. 320 mm inner barrel and adjustable hop-up The SA AK-12 Carbine GBBR features an approximately 320 mm long inner barrel and an adjustable hop-up system. By adjusting the hop-up, the backspin transferred to the BB can be matched to the BB weight used. A correct setting supports a flat, stable trajectory and reproducible hit results. For the SA-J21, high-quality 6 mm BBs in the range of about 0.28 to 0.32 g are recommended. The optimal weight depends on the actual performance of the respective F version, the hop-up setting, and the respective field conditions. We recommend high-quality BBs, for example from G&G, BLS, or Delta Armory Diamond. For a GBBR, special care should also be taken to ensure that no silicone oil or grease gets on the hop-up rubber or into the BB channel. Lubricants in these areas can reduce the necessary friction of the hop-up and thus significantly impair precision and range. 35-round gas magazine for authentic gameplay The SA-J21 VAPOR™ is delivered with a metal gas magazine for 35 BBs. Hinweis: Gas-Blow-Back-Systeme benötigen regelmäßige Pflege. Dichtungen, bewegliche Bauteile und mechanisch beanspruchte Komponenten sollten regelmäßig kontrolliert und mit geeigneten Pflegemitteln behandelt werden. Hop-Up-Gummi und BB-Laufweg müssen dabei frei von Öl und Fett bleiben. Leistung und Funktion eines GBBR können abhängig von Gas- und Außentemperatur schwanken.
