What makes the 5.45x39mm box special


Caliber-specific fit
Precisely fitting slots according to CIP standard dimension – each cartridge sits firmly in its place, minimizing play and rattling. The shape follows the caliber, not the drawer.


Hinge lid with latch lock
The lid is attached at the back via a hinge and folds fully backward – the cartridges then stand upright and ready to grab in the securely fitting insert. A latch lock at the front keeps the lid securely closed during transport; to open, simply release the catch.


Stable & durable
Strong wall thickness, densely printed layers – the box holds reliably together in the gun cabinet, range bag, and on the go. Reusable, no disposable carton.


Caliber marking in multicolor print
The caliber designation is multicolor integrated directly into the box print – permanent, without stickers and without engraving. In a full gun cabinet, you immediately reach for the right box.

We print every box here in Westerwald – no container import, no anonymous mass production. Printing is largely done with solar power from our own 22 kWp photovoltaic system. Material: Filamelt PLA+ 2.0.

Frequently asked questions about the 5.45x39mm box


Do my reload cartridges fit?
The box is designed for CIP-compliant cartridges. Custom loads with longer overall length (long bullets, shallow seating depth) can be tight near the upper OAL limit – if in doubt, ask briefly in advance.


Does the lid pop open in the backpack?
No. A latch lock at the front keeps the hinge lid securely closed so it does not accidentally open during transport. To open, release the catch with your finger; the lid then folds backward. Slight manufacturing tolerances are possible.


Are the boxes suitable for transport?
They are well suited for transport in the range bag – as an organizing and storage box. They do not replace a legally required safety container (WaffG/AWaffV) and are not a
Dangerous goods packaging.


Is the box heat resistant (e.g. the summer trunk)?
With normal room and cabinet storage, the box remains permanently dimensionally stable. Like all PLA materials, it is not made for permanent heat – it should not be left in the blazing summer trunk (well above 50 °C) for extended periods.


What are the tolerances in 3D printing?
Due to manufacturing, slight tolerances are possible. The cartridges still sit firmly in the slot – a minimal play remains by design, and unnecessary pressure on the bullet nose is avoided as much as possible.
