The Glock 45 Gen6 belongs to the new generation of the Austrian firearms manufacturer. The changes compared to previous models represent a big leap in development history, as the new Gen6 was clearly designed with a focus on the civilian end user. We have detailed the new design elements and the revised feel below. Otherwise, the Gen6 closely follows the Gen5 in terms of trigger, technology, general design, and ambidextrous usability – so, for example, holsters from older generations can still be used.

Instead of the new Gen6 optic mount, this variant is equipped with the A-CUT footprint, introduced for the first time on the Gen5 and developed together with Aimpoint, and is delivered from the factory with the Aimpoint COA. The Aimpoint COA is a closed, very low-profile red dot sight. The original sights can still be used, called "Co-Witnessing." Very stable and durable, the COA offers a battery life of about 50,000 hours – over 5 years.

The Glock 45 was the first civilian "crossover" model based on the Glock 19X – with a short dustcover but a standard-length magazine well, the firearm is more manageable and compact than the Gen17 but offers a better grip than the Glock 19. Since the grip frame of the Glock 17 Gen6 is slightly shorter at the dustcover, both firearms have the same grip frame. The advantage is that all interchangeable systems with long or compact slides can be mounted. This gives the shooter more options with one base firearm.

Features for all GEN 6 models:

- The trigger is now designed with a straight trigger blade
- The distance from the backstrap to the trigger blade is shorter and better suited for smaller hands
- The trigger guard has a higher undercut, allowing the shooting hand to sit higher for a more stable grip

- The revised ergonomics are reflected in the grip profile, which adapts to the natural shape of the hand
- The standard larger beavertail allows a higher, more secure grip of the shooting hand
- Deeper and angled slide serrations at the front and rear allow better grip when racking the slide

- RTF6 is the new grip texture combining two surface types for a firm, secure, yet comfortable hold
- Above the trigger guard is a textured area for the thumb of the supporting hand or for indexing the trigger finger
- The slide stop lever is better protected against accidental activation by a larger boundary
