The Leupold VX-5HD Gen 2 1-5x24 is a lightweight, particularly robust hunting riflescope designed for quick target acquisition at short to medium distances. The 5x zoom range combines a very large field of view at 1x magnification with sufficient detail recognition at 5x magnification. The Professional-Grade Optical System offers high light transmission, effective glare reduction, and a high-contrast image even in backlight or difficult lighting conditions. High-resolution HD lenses support clear, color-accurate, and detailed image reproduction across the entire magnification range. The illuminated FireDot 4 Fine reticle is located in the second focal plane. Its bold outer bars allow for quick orientation, while the fine center supports precise target acquisition. The open upper reticle area also facilitates observation of the target environment. The red dot quickly draws the eye to the center of the reticle and can be adjusted to eight brightness levels to suit the respective lighting conditions. The integrated Motion Sensor Technology (MST™) automatically turns off the reticle illumination after five minutes of inactivity. Once the riflescope is moved, the illumination is immediately reactivated. This conserves battery life without compromising quick readiness for use. The metric elevation and windage adjustments operate at 1 cm per click at 100 m. Both adjustment turrets are designed as protected pop-up re-zero turrets and can be reset to the zero mark after sighting in. This model is explicitly not a CDS version with SpeedSet™ elevation turret. The hydrophobic Guard-Ion coating repels water, dirt, and fingerprints, making it easier to clean the outer lenses. An integrated, low-profile magnification lever allows for quick changes in magnification. The riflescope is waterproof, fog-proof, and shock-resistant.
