It is modern without appearing too futuristic. 6 cartridges of caliber 9mm P.A.K fit into the single-stack sheet steel magazine. The gas pistol sets a small accent with its matte black finish. Despite the low price, a manual safety was not omitted. In addition, the signal pistol features a combined single-/double action trigger.When testing a blank firing pistol from the lower price segment, expectations are usually much lower. Therefore, we were somewhat surprised by the quality of the Record model COP gas pistol. Although the weapon is largely made of zinc die-cast, essential functional parts are made of steel. These include some lock parts as well as the bolt face. The surface of the signal pistol makes a good impression. There are no burrs or machining marks. The bluing, which comes here in a matte look, also does not have to hide. The grip panels are made of plastic and are quite robust, which is also beneficial for large hands. The slide of the pistol runs smoothly without too much lateral play. The spring of the lateral magazine release button is tight enough to prevent accidental release of the magazine. The trigger characteristics are also not bad for a blank firing pistol. In the uncocked state, accidental discharge is effectively prevented, and when cocked, there is even a kind of pressure point. A special feature is the missing slide stop lever. In the case of the COP, the slide is held by the follower of the empty magazine. Finally, we conducted a small shooting test. We tested 4 types of ammunition (steel and brass cases) with 2 magazine loads each. We observed no abnormalities or malfunctions. The weapon functioned absolutely reliably.Overall, we are positively impressed by the Record model COP gas/signal pistol.
