The rifle features a TLD system, designed for precise shots at extreme distances. The massive barrel has a diameter of 28 mm at the muzzle and a length of 710 mm.The bolt is equipped with an exchangeable tactical bolt handle and an external magazine release lever, especially suitable for fast-paced competitions.The modular tactical stock features an aluminum chassis, a new fore-end, and a stock milled from a high-strength Egal 55 alloy on CNC machines.The cheek rest and trigger travel are individually and stably adjustable with screws. The extra tube attached to the underside of the buttstock fits exactly into the recess of a standard shooting rest, providing additional stability.The rigid chassis made from an aluminum alloy gives the STR Sport superior precision.The multi-radius barrel profile (MRR®)When comparing a traditional barrel with a polygonal and the multi-radius, the latter is ideal for both traditional and full metal jacket bullets.In multi-radius barrels, two different radii alternate, giving the bullet geometrically positive support without stressing it too much. In fact, the bullets are pressure-formed to the bore circumference rather than cut as in traditional barrels, which extends barrel life. Furthermore, there are no sharp edges like in other barrel systems where residue can accumulate, keeping the barrel cleaner and reducing wear.All tests conducted show: Multi-radius barrels shoot better and more precisely with conventional lead bullets and FMJ bullets in calibers 7.62 mm (.308) and 6.5 mm (.264) than traditionally shaped barrels.At standard pressure values, the exit velocity is higher than with conventional barrels—under certain conditions up to 12%. The bullet seals the bore better so no gas escapes forward, optimizing the effect of the propellant energy. Also, friction between bullet and barrel is minimized.The spatial arrangement has further improved due to extremely tight production tolerances required in manufacturing multi-radius barrels. The multi-radius barrel is ideally suited for cold forging. The consistency of the produced barrel profile is excellent and the overall quality of the barrels has improved.The special barrel geometry at the barrel extension in multi-radius barrels allows more precise and continuous guidance of the bullet through the chamber neck and bore than in conventional barrel systems—the bullet best contacts the bore, reducing flight abrasion.Under the same conditions, less copper fouling occurs inside
in the multiradial barrels, resulting in less cleaning required. And when cleaning is necessary, it is easier than with conventional rifling.
