The Parabellum pistol, also known as Luger, is a semi-automatic pistol. Introduced in 1908 in the German Empire as the Pistole 08, this service weapon was designed by the Austrian Georg Luger.
The main characteristic of the weapons is the underfolding knee joint lock, which tilts upwards when firing, instead of, as is usually the case, moving straight back. Therefore, the Parabellum pistol is very safe to handle.

The Pistole 08 is one of the most produced handguns. It was initially manufactured at the Deutsche Waffen- und Munitionsfabriken (DWM) in Berlin, later by numerous other manufacturers (e.g., Krieghoff with around 13,850 pistols of model 08) and state arms factories.
