Available from stock, with glass lens.
The compact and lightweight red dot sights from the brand "Shield Sights" have set the standard for the smallest and most robust "Mini Sights" for law enforcement and the civilian market since the 1990s. The original Shield Mini Sight (SMS) with polymer lens is still in production, but the portfolio has been continuously expanded in recent years. The Reflex Mini Sight (RMS) with aluminum housing was introduced in 2016, followed by the compact RMSc in 2018.
Most Mini Sight models are available with either polymer (higher shock resistance) or glass lens (higher scratch resistance). All Mini Sights use the common lithium CR2032 batteries with a lifespan of 2-3 years under normal use and 4 years or more when the weapon is frequently stored in a safe.
RMS
The evolution of the original SMS introduces an aluminum housing but otherwise retains the same compact dimensions and simple operation of the SMS. The RMS features a battery compartment that can be opened from the side, allowing for battery replacement without disassembling the sight.
4 MOA dot
The LEDs provide either a red 4 or 8 MoA dot, and the Mini Sight is ALWAYS on with automatic brightness control, offering a brightness level that allows use with night vision devices at the lowest setting and enables use on bright summer days at the highest setting - according to the manufacturer: "Visible against the sky in bright daylight." ALL Shield Sights, regardless of series and design, use the same extremely compact "footprint" introduced by the company 30 years ago, for which there is a wide range of adapter plates, including those made in-house, and also specially prepared firearms. Due to the low height, co-witnessing with standard sights on many firearms is possible, depending on the adapter plate.

Shield International was founded in 1983 in the USA and originally dealt with special solutions for sports shooters as well as military and law enforcement. The expertise of the company and its founder and experienced IPSC shooter Jeremy White led to the development of the Shield Mini Sights in 1996, introduced at that time as "Firepoint." From 1998, this sight was manufactured in larger quantities as "Tasco Optima." Smith & Wesson then jumped on the bandwagon, and Docter also used the concept with a slightly modified footprint. Over the years, the number of units in military and law enforcement applications also grew, especially special forces were enthusiastic about the mini reflex sights. After successes with military contracts and rebranding of its own technology, Shield International began to focus more on the civilian market from 2014 onwards and today successfully sells some of the smallest and most robust sights on the market under its own name.
