You are bidding on a 98 Mauser repeater from the Portugal contract 1937 in caliber 8x57IS. Nearly matching number 98 from 1937 with several signs of use. The rifle has the following features: • Caliber 8x57IS • matching number except for the front fitting • chamber sleeve with the coat of arms of Portugal, below "1937", right 3x eagle/HK 63, left 1x eagle/HK & production number • sight scaled 1-20 (matching number, KWKG weld point (removed by previous owner) at 300m), WaA63 approvals, original Portugal front sight with large wings • bayonet mount, cleaning rod missing • original dark walnut stock, preserved markings of the Wehrmacht, matching number, sling swivel • reproof Mellrichstadt 1972 • barrel rough, pitted The weapon has been functionally/visually checked in our in-house gunsmithing shop, but not cleaned.
