Colt Government M45 CQBP CO2 Pistol 4.5 mm Steel BB
The M45 Close Quarter Battle version describes the latest expansion stage of the legendary Colt 1911. The US Marine Corps ordered a total of 12,000 pieces of this version in 2012. The CO2 Blow Back version from Umarex has been modeled on the sharp original down to the smallest detail. The caliber is, of course, different. The CO2 replica uses 4.5 mm BB steel round balls. A total of 19 pieces fit into the included magazine. A standard 12g CO2 capsule is also inserted into this magazine. This pressurizes the system and ensures an average muzzle velocity of 90 m/s. The heavy metal construction has also been equipped with a realistic blow back system that loads the next ball after the shot. The CO2 pistol features two safeties. The automatic palm safety allows for the unlocking of the system when the grip is firmly held. In contrast, the Colt M45's pivot safety blocks the trigger. The rear sight and front sight are attached to the weapon via dovetail like the original and are not adjustable. The Colt M45 has a length of 220 mm and a weight of 930 g.

Our Test Assessment
It is really good to see that not only classics in their original form are being replicated but also very current expansions are being taken into account. This is the case with the Colt M45 CQB. Developed in 2012, this CO2 pistol is already available as a 4.5 mm CO2 weapon from Umarex. The sharp model has truly been replicated down to the detail. Even the palm safety of the CO2 pistol has been functionally modeled. The pivot safety of the Colt M45, which blocks the trigger, has also been adopted. Thus, one is protected from accidental discharges. The workmanship of the Colt M45 also leaves nothing to be desired. All parts have been manufactured with great precision. The black coloring is very uniform and appears high quality. The included magazine holds 19 balls as well as the CO2 capsule. The blow back system of the Colt M45 is a real joy. The slide cycles like the original and reliably loads the next shot. In our shooting test, the good impression continued. The CO2 pistol is very precise at the typical distances for handguns and also has good penetration power, which is especially important for plinking.
Our test showed that Umarex has succeeded in creating a great 4.5 mm CO2 variant with the licensed production of the Colt M45. The pistol looks very good and shoots, apart from the recoil, like the sharp original. We are absolutely thrilled.
Information about the Original
When talking about the 1911, everyone who has ever had anything to do with firearms knows immediately what is meant. Nowadays, it is produced by many manufacturers worldwide. However, the original was developed by Colt in 1911 and introduced into service with the US Army under the designation "U.S. Pistol, Caliber .45 Model of 1911." In the 21st century, the advantages of the legend were recognized again, and in 2012, a total of 12,000 copies of the new model M45A1 were ordered for the US Marine Corps. The key to success is the basic structure of the weapon based on the locked breech developed by Browning. Although it is quite simple in construction, it...
