Smith & Wesson M&P R8, 5" barrel

The Smith & Wesson M&P R8 is a modern .357 Magnum revolver from the Performance Center, S&W's in-house tuning workshop, featuring a contemporary design. It is based on the classic N-frame - the large frame for calibers like .44 Magnum - but this one is made of "Scandium", or a Scandium-aluminum alloy, which gives the revolver a surprisingly low weight for its size. The large frame also accommodates a large 8-shot cylinder - 2 shots more than a standard .357 Magnum revolver. A Picatinny rail is integrated at 6 o'clock on the frame, and another rail can be mounted at 12 o'clock for optics; the rubber grip with finger grooves ensures a secure hold and noticeable recoil absorption.

Together with the Performance Center trigger with trigger stop and the revised lockwork, it is an all-rounder that feels at home on the shooting range during competitions as well as in the holster while hunting. The cylinder is prepared for quick reloading using moon clips.
