Smith & Wesson 686 Security Special 4"

The Smith & Wesson Model 686 Security Special is a variant of the well-known Model 686, which is based on the L-frame. Like all 686 models, it features a barrel, frame, and cylinder made of Stainless Steel and an adjustable sight. A special feature is the matte finish and the wood grip designed for carrying, which provides a secure hold due to its shape but does not add unnecessary bulk when carried in a holster. Designed for use in security, it is also excellent as a backup weapon. The slim wood grip can also be used with speedloaders.

Practical Tip:
The 4" variant is suitable in combination with a larger grip, e.g., the Match grip from Nill, as a sport revolver for shooters who find the 6" variants too front-heavy. The trigger is the same as that of the 686 base model and the normal Target Champion (Deluxe).
