For sports shooters, the use of a suppressor is not legally possible. With the muzzle flash suppressor attachment M.A.R.S. from Brügger & Thomet, at least the same optics are now possible for AR weapons and other Modern Sporting Rifles. This attachment is simply mounted on the existing NATO / A2 muzzle flash suppressor and extends the weapon by 45 mm. However, there is no reduction in sound pressure, making it legally irrelevant and freely available for sports shooters.

In addition to the suppressor optics, this extended muzzle brake also has other advantages for the sports shooter: The gas exit is directed forward like a suppressor, just without damping. This reduces the recoil of the weapon and significantly reduces the side-emitted smoke - thus protecting neighboring shooters. When shooting in a prone position, less dust and particles are stirred up, which can cause irritations in the field of vision or even disrupt the weapon's function.

The B&T muzzle flash suppressor can be easily attached to M.A.R.S. compatible muzzle flash suppressors and compensators (caliber .223 (5.56mm) and .308 (7.62 mm)). The new M.A.R.S. interface is more compact and easier to operate than other interfaces; it is a proprietary development by B&T.
