The Vortex Red Dot Side-Mount 45 degrees allows for the side mounting of a red dot sight or other accessories at a 45° angle next to the Picatinny rail. For example, if there are no interfaces on the scope mount, a reflex sight can be quickly added.

The adapter made of high-strength polymer is simply mounted at any point on the Picatinny rail - at a 45° angle, a small piece of Picatinny then provides space for attaching the red dot optic.

By tilting the weapon sideways, one can switch between the optics. Brilliant idea and easy to implement.
