The Eickhorn Recon Force is an uncompromising combat dagger that stands in the line of classic command daggers and cannot deny its inspiration from the legendary Fairbarn Sykes command dagger. "Uncompromising" is indeed the right word here and certainly not an exaggeration: unlike many modern combat knives, which often have to meet the requirements of a universal tool or bayonet and therefore compromise in form and function, the Recon Force is a combat dagger through and through. This makes it naturally excellent as a leading intercept knife for hunting use, as the requirements are similar.

The dagger blade with the prominent tip reinforced by a stable central ridge effortlessly penetrates even the thickest hide; the blade, hardened to "only" 53 HRC and extending all the way to the tang, is designed for break resistance rather than edge retention. It is a dagger for use under adverse conditions and adrenaline, not a little knife for delicate cuts and filleting. The handle is designed classically as a dagger grip, so it doesn't matter how the Recon Force is held, and one does not have to pay attention to the correct alignment of the blade. With a length of approximately 13 cm, a grippy, textured surface, and a hand-filling pommel, the handle is suitable for all handling styles. The handguard is sufficiently large to prevent the hand from slipping and, depending on handling, provides a counter support for the fingers or thumb for better control. The dagger is rounded off by a part of the blade, which is designed as serration for cutting fibrous materials, and a sheath made of modern impact-resistant plastic that can be used with MOLLE.

The EICKHORN-Solingen GmbH is a traditional Solingen company for steel goods, founded in 1865 by Carl Eickhorn. The company specialized early on in edged weapons and became known around 1900 for its military knives and bayonets. After several changes of ownership, the company is still a well-known and proven manufacturer of robust and reliable military knives and has recently expanded its range back to the civilian market, as it did in its early years, where it can draw on its expertise in the production of robust and pragmatic utility knives. The manufacturing takes place in the traditional manner in Solingen, making Eickhorn one of the few remaining traditional manufacturers.
