Description

Available directly from stock.

For powerful large-caliber repeating rifles in .338 Lapua Magnum or even the massive .50 BMG, a high-performance bipod is needed that can withstand the force. Fortmeier offers a high-end bipod system in various versions that is particularly robust, absolutely reliable, and remains easy to handle.

The Fortmeier adapter for Arca-Swiss / RRS-Rail is an intermediary piece that can be attached to these new rail systems. In conjunction with the UIT adapter, Fortmeier bipods can be installed.

What is ARCA, actually?
ARCA-SWISS Phototechnik AG is a Swiss camera manufacturer that designed the ARCA Rail as a quickly detachable interface for cameras on tripods. Still a standard in photography, the principle spread among shooters who appreciated the interface with the tripod. Since ARCA-SWISS never published the dimensions of the rail, many manufacturers (e.g., Magpul, MDT) use the RRS (Really Right Stuff - a manufacturer of camera accessories) standard, which is compatible with all original ARCA rails and most ARCA interpretations.

Fortmeier offers the following adapters:

- for Picatinny for 6 o'clock mounting (bottom)
- for Picatinny for 12 o'clock mounting (top)
- for M-Lok
- for UIT interfaces
- UIT to bipod mounting
- UIT to Picatinny
- for Ruger Precision Rifle Gen.2 (Generation 3 has M-LOK)
- only for 12 o'clock mounting
- Gen.2 features a convex "punched" rail on the handguard
- Arca-Swiss / RRS adapter
- for mounting the UIT bipod adapter

Notes on Picatinny mounting:
The mounts are currently offered as 6 o'clock or 12 o'clock - the two variants are IDENTICAL, only a laser engraving indicates the difference, and the screw for the bipod attachment is screwed in for the corresponding orientation. You just need to unscrew the screw from the spigot and screw it back in from the other side to switch between 6 and 12 o'clock; the screw always belongs at the bottom. The clamping jaws of the mount are spring-loaded. Strong recoil forces cannot harm the system. Using a quick-release lever, the bipod can also be quickly detached from the weapon or the rotational resistance adjusted to tilt the weapon sideways.

The most important features at a glance:

- First-class workmanship, extremely robust and durable
- Color: Black with a satin matte surface finish
- General info: The spigot adapters from GRS also fit Fortmeier bipods, but the Fortmeier adapters do not fit GRS bipods.

Heinrich Fortmeier is a true large-caliber enthusiast - the company website 50bmg.de promises nothing less than the most powerful caliber available in Germany for hunters and sport shooters. In 1999, Fortmeier developed the first single-shot rifle entirely in-house; after over two decades, the systems are now fully matured and enjoy the highest recognition worldwide. The bipod systems from this small forge are also legendary today and a truly worthwhile investment for every long-range shooter.
