Kimber 1911 RAPIDE SCORPIUS

The Kimber 1911 Rapide Scorpius is a variant of the Rapide pistol family. At its core, the Rapide models are high-quality 1911 pistols that come with modern features and a futuristic look. The generous, deep loading grooves and the weight-saving cuts in the slide immediately catch the eye and not only give the weapon a distinctive appearance but also increase the slide's cycling speed, allowing for faster follow-up shots. The smooth trigger with a short trigger pull also impresses the discerning shooter.

The design language continues in the G10 grip panels, which feel comfortable yet secure in hand. Modern features of the Rapide include the texture on the front and back of the grip - Kimber Stiplex - as well as the ambidextrous safety and the enlarged beavertail. The sights are fixed and set in a Novak cut. The hammer and trigger are skeletonized, and a "low profile" magazine funnel ensures quick and reliable loading. Despite the magazine funnel, all standard 1911 magazines in the respective caliber can be used. The barrel is hard-coated (DLC) for corrosion protection and long service life. The Scorpius features brushed side surfaces with black contrast under the grip and on the barrel, as well as in the cutouts of the slide.

Kimber Manufacturing was founded as Kimber of Oregon in 1979 by Jack & Greg Warne. The emigrated Australians initially produced various rifles until financial difficulties and a sale of the company led to bankruptcy. Jack Warne then founded Warne Manufacturing Company, which has since produced the well-known mounts. Greg Warne re-established the company together with a financier and expanded the portfolio to include the 1911 platform - a product line extension that helped Kimber achieve its current reputation and standing in the industry. Kimber pistols are known for their manufacturing quality and tight tolerances and are almost entirely made "in-house" from raw materials. The company's headquarters is now located in Alabama.
