The Springfield Echelon Compact is a new and innovative pistol that stands out primarily due to its modular solution for optics mounting. Manufactured by the Croatian company HS Produkt, which has a long-standing cooperation with Springfield in the field of handguns, the Echelon offers state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques and practical ergonomics and modular design.

The centerpiece is the combined trigger unit with barrel mount and guide rails. This unit can be easily removed and swapped between grip frames, meaning the grip frames do not constitute essential parts under German firearms law, as this function is performed by this "Central Operating Group." The unit is made of stainless steel. As standard, the medium grip frame is always installed, and each Echelon is delivered with 3 interchangeable backstraps, allowing the shooter to customize the grip to their preferences. The haptics are optimized for use under all conditions and provide not only the shooting hand with optimal support but also feature texturing at various points on the grip frame to give all fingers and the support hand a secure hold.

All controls are ambidextrous, and even the magazine release button does not need to be modified for left-handed use, while the trigger guard is enlarged and can be operated with gloves. The slide is heavily textured to facilitate easy loading. The front and rear of the slide have integrated steps to ensure a secure grip when manipulating the weapon. The rigid tritium sight is night-capable and made of steel, allowing the rear sight to be used for loading against barricades. The cold-forged barrel and slide are Melonite-coated for high corrosion resistance and longevity.

But what is truly special about the Echelon is the optics mounting. This is fully modular, and no adapter plates are needed to mount a variety of optics.
