The Fortmeier M2002 is a modular precision rifle designed for the ambitious long-range shooter. It is designed for calibers up to .50 BMG but has the capability to quickly change calibers without tools, allowing for a wide range from .308 Win to .338 Lapua Magnum to .50 BMG. The individual components can be detached from one another without tools. The cold-forged barrel by Heym has a standard length of 820mm and is fluted in the front area.
Depending on the caliber, it features a muzzle brake with 2 or 3 chambers or a muzzle flash suppressor for smaller calibers. Together with the fore-end/carry handle, sight rail, and bipod, it forms a unit that is slid onto and locked into the grip. The grip itself includes the single-stage trigger with a pull weight of 1,500-2,000g (preset), the butt plate, and the handle. Various monopods (available separately) can be attached to the handle. The bolt housing is also mounted on the grip. It features a cheek rest made of painted beech wood. The weapon is very solidly constructed, and since the barrel and sight rail are firmly connected, re-zeroing after disassembly or caliber change is not necessary.
The bipod corresponds to the well-known Fortmeier bipods but is mounted concentrically to the barrel axis, making the weapon extremely stable in position. It can be adjusted in height in several stages, can be rotated around the barrel axis, and can be fixed.
Our tip:
For example, the .338 Lapua Magnum interchangeable barrel system and the .50 BMG ammunition from PPU are a good match.

Heinrich Fortmeier is a true big caliber enthusiast - the company website 50bmg.de alone promises less than the most powerful caliber available in Germany for hunters and sport shooters. In 1999, Fortmeier developed the first single-shot rifle entirely in-house, and after over two decades, the systems are now fully matured and enjoy the highest recognition worldwide. The bipod systems from the small forge are also legendary today and represent a truly worthwhile investment for any long-range shooter.
