STEYR DMR 762

The STEYR DMR looks like any other AR10 at first glance, but it is worth paying more attention to this Austrian - because the DMR is a completely independent weapon platform. Designed for precision and mobility, this weapon weighs under 4kg depending on barrel length, and the folding stock, equipped with a standard Milspec Carbine Buffertube and a B5 Bravo Stock, ensures a compact transport size. Since it is not a classic AR system, but rather the bolt springs run in the housing and the stock folds under the ejection port, the weapon can also be used with the stock folded.

The internal system springs are combined with a "short stroke gas piston" - just like the short-stroke gas piston used in the G36, the HK MR models, and the B&T APC platform - or indeed the STEYR AUG. This keeps the system clean, the springs cool, and the shooter does not get powder gases in the face. The gas system is adjustable via a generously sized regulator located in front of the handguard. The charging handle is housed in the handguard and can be mounted on both sides without tools.

The controls conform to the AR15/AR10 standard, with the grip, safety, and trigger being compatible with widely available accessories. The safety, bolt catch, and magazine release lever are ambidextrous. A MAK trigger is installed from the factory, meaning a match trigger is included out of the box. The magazines also conform to the common AR10 standard, and no special magazines are required - the magazine well is cut on one side to facilitate handling of the 10-round magazines appropriate for the weapon's intended use.

The high-quality and precise package is rounded off with a 12 o'clock Picatinny rail and the M-LOK handguard. There are several QD mounts available on both sides of the housing and stock to attach a sling swivel.
