EICKHORN Tanto Combat Knife KM 2000 SGT GLOWING, smooth

The Eickhorn KM 2000, smooth with SGT coating, is a variant of the BW combat knife. SGT is the name of a durable coating that has phosphorescence, meaning it glows after being exposed to a light source. The duration and intensity of the glow depend on the previous lighting. This makes the knife suitable for use in hunting or generally in outdoor areas (where permitted, as it is a combat knife) - losing it in the dark and fog is thus made more difficult. Whether the knife also glows when orcs are nearby has yet to be tested.

Otherwise, this is the combat knife of the Bundeswehr in the "smooth" version without serration, thus in the original configuration with the original tanto tip (straight blade back). The combat knife 2000 was introduced in the Bundeswehr after a long tender process as a modern universal knife. Despite its name, it is not only designed as a weapon but serves the soldier as a tool for various tasks. With a blade thickness of 5mm and the tough 1.4110 steel, it has a high resistance to everything a young conscript can come up with. The full tang ends in a hammer surface, which can be used as a glass breaker.

The sheath is made of GFK and holds the knife securely via an integrated spring. The sheath and carrying system are detachably connected, the carrying system is designed for IDZ & Molle systems but can also be attached to a belt. A pad for sharpening the blade is attached to the sheath.

EICKHORN-Solingen GmbH is a traditional Solingen company for steel goods, founded in 1865 by Carl Eickhorn. The company specialized early on in edged weapons and became known around 1900 for its military knives and bayonets.
