The BEV (Barrel Extension Vice) is a multifunctional tool from Magpul designed for use with AR15 models. The primary purpose is to be used during work on the upper receiver and barrel to protect the system from damage caused by improper clamping or tool forces.
The BEV engages with a steel piece into the barrel extension of the AR to prevent the barrel from twisting. The block is stabilized using the front retaining pin of the housing. The block itself is made from Magpul's typical polymer to avoid damage to the aluminum housing.
Additionally, the BEV can be used as a mounting block for the lower receiver; to do this, the block simply needs to be turned around and the formerly lower end inserted into the magazine well.
