The Hornady .45-70 Government Sub-X with 410gr is a special subsonic load designed for hunting use. Optimized for use in suppressed firearms, the cartridge allows for use on deer and small game up to about 100-150m – with the right weapon, the combination is truly quiet, perfect for use near populated areas. Also suitable for use in short-barreled lever-action rifles or single-shot rifles for the finishing shot, such a weapon delivers significantly more energy than a pistol or revolver.

The Sub-X projectile is specifically designed for use in subsonic ammunition and therefore expands reliably; longitudinal grooves in the ogive assist with expansion, the well-known Flex Tip from Hornady ensures reliable feeding and terminal ballistics, and the lead core provides the mass and deformation for a proper energy transfer.

This load has approximately 1,200J at 100m and is therefore NOT suitable for large game!
