The Sightmark Boresights offer the shooter a simple yet reliable way to test whether the sight is correctly set up. This saves a lot of frustration, ammunition, and expensive ceiling shots at the shooting range - or even prevents the dreaded hit on the cable system. The application is incredibly simple: Since the Boresight is always "on," you just need to insert the battery (or batteries), screw on the end cap, and place the Boresight into the chamber. Depending on the ambient brightness, the sight can be adjusted to the laser point at distances of up to 25 m. Greater distances are possible but not recommended, as the tolerances between the chamber and the laser cartridge could lead to excessive deviations, or an unaligned barrel may deviate from the chamber. When the point and reticle match at 10-25m, you are on target at 100m.

Please note:
The Boresight does not replace zeroing! It is a simple way to check if the weapon and sight are roughly aligned.

Since the Boresights are longer than normal cartridges depending on the caliber, they must be manually inserted. While it is possible to fire the weapon with the inserted Boresight due to the massive brass base of the laser cartridge, it should be avoided. Since the laser cartridges do not have an extraction groove in some calibers, removal may require assistance in the form of a cleaning rod or similar.
