The Vortex Strikefire II is a classic "Duty Size" red dot sight in a modernized, revised version. At first glance, it looks like one of the many Aimpoint Comp M2 (M68) clones from the early 2000s - but inside it hides modern technology. The adjustment wheel for brightness control has been replaced by two push buttons, making it possible to adjust the brightness even while wearing gloves or in poor visibility. The 10 brightness levels include two night vision modes for use with goggles or monoculars. An automatic shut-off activates after 12 hours - the battery will not be drained while the sight is in the cabinet. And the battery life is anything but outdated: up to 50,000 hours at low brightness levels.

The included cantilever mount raises the sight to "1/3 co-witnessing" height, approximately 39mm optical axis. Standard for use with AR-type semi-automatics. However, any classic red dot mount with a 30mm ring diameter can be used.
