The MARK V BackCountry 2.0 from WEATHERBY is the next generation of the groundbreaking Backcountry™ family. The GEN 2.0 builds on the classic Weatherby® Mark V® action, with some important updates. Still equipped with a super lightweight barrel, the most striking upgrade is the new high-end carbon fiber stock Peak 44™ Blacktooth™, whose lightest versions weigh less than approximately 567 g. Also eye-catching is the second-generation 3DHEX® stock cap. The first 3D-printed production stock cap that the firearms world has seen. Inside the pad are a series of interlocking cavities that effectively withstand and pleasantly reduce the heavy recoil of magnum calibers.

The pronounced spiral-fluted bolt not only saves a bit of weight but also reduces the contact area within the mechanism, leading to an even smoother function that practically screams for a perfectly flowing bullet catch. The chamber handle with new threading is equipped with a lightweight extended and skeletonized aluminum knob.

Also installed is the highly effective Accubrake® ST muzzle brake, with symmetrically arranged openings that help reduce recoil. This muzzle brake tames even strong magnum calibers and makes them pleasant to shoot.
