The Eickhorn US M7-LE bayonet is a new production of the classic US bayonet which was introduced in 1964 during the Vietnam War for the M16 rifle and is still in use today by various armies and US armed forces. In the past, Eickhorn manufactured the M7 on behalf of the US Army; now, with the M7-LE, a limited and numbered final edition is available for the civilian market. The bayonet uses the NATO attachment and can be mounted on most Western rifles with a bayonet lug and corresponding NATO muzzle flash suppressors.

The blade is made from Eickhorn Professional Bayonet Steel and has a hardness of 51-53 HRC and very good break resistance with a blade thickness of 5mm. The spear point blade features a ground back edge and is coated with Kalgard for corrosion protection and to avoid reflections. The textured plastic handle is slip-resistant and symmetrical.

The included sheath is a modified M8A1, as has been part of the equipment for US troops since World War II, with a mounting option for belts or frog. The sheath is made of plastic with a mouth of sheet steel and nylon webbing for attachment to the belt or carrying equipment.

EICKHORN-Solingen GmbH is a traditional Solingen company for steel goods, founded in 1865 by Carl Eickhorn. The company specialized early on in edged weapons and became known around 1900 for its military knives and bayonets. After several changes of ownership, the company is still a well-known and proven manufacturer of robust and reliable military knives and has recently expanded its range, as in the early years, back to the civilian market, where it can draw on its expertise in the production of robust and pragmatic utility knives. The manufacturing takes place in Solingen, making Eickhorn one of the few remaining traditional manufacturers.
