The Unity Tactical FAST MRDS Mount raises the optical axis of compatible red dot sights to approximately 57-61mm (2.26"). This not only corresponds to current shooting concepts that emphasize a straight, relaxed head position for more dynamic shooting disciplines but also helps "tall guys" achieve a more comfortable shooting position. For the hunter, the elevated optical axis is advantageous when working with night vision goggles. The mount is also extended forward to sit on the housing of an AR15 while still providing valuable centimeters of forward space for optics, allowing magnification modules to be positioned further forward, which is of course also beneficial for our taller shooters and simplifies the use with night vision goggles.

Made from 7075-T6 aluminum and Type III hard anodized, the mount is lightweight yet very robust. The screwed clamping jaws can be replaced with an optional QD lever. This riser can be equipped with a variety of optics in conjunction with the FAST Optic Adapter Plates, which can then also be used with the FAST FTC Magnifier Mounts.

What is "co-witness"?
"Co-witness" refers to the possibility that the optical axis of a red dot sight and a standard sighting system are at the same height, allowing both to be used simultaneously. On the AR platform, this height is approximately 3.5cm (1.4"). Since this sight height is considered somewhat too low for dynamic disciplines and the field of view of the red dot sight is significantly restricted with a fixed or flipped-up sight, the currently most used standard is "1/3 co-witness," which states that the standard sight is located approximately in the lower third of the field of view of the primarily used red dot sight. Depending on the manufacturer, there are slight variations, but this sight height is around 37-41mm (1.5"-1.63"). The Unity Tactical FAST Optical Riser is designed for this sight height.
