The Walther PDP Steel Frame Full Size Black Ribbon is a factory-modified match pistol made in Germany. Unlike the standard variant, it comes factory-equipped with a magazine funnel (Jet Funnel) and the competition-optimized Dynamic Performance Trigger. Additionally, compared to the match variant, it features an enlarged magazine release button, micrometer sighting, and grip panels with a coarser, more aggressive texture. Correspondingly, the included magazines have extended magazine bases. Like the other "Steel Frame" models, it surprisingly has a steel frame with plastic grip panels. This makes these models significantly bulkier and they feel quite different in hand compared to the polymer models, with a noticeably calmer shooting behavior - perfect for rapid fire sequences or precision.

Manufactured by the traditional manufacturer Carl Walther, the PDP platform is characterized by very good ergonomics and emphasizes good "pointability," meaning quick target acquisition through an intuitive hand position. Robustly constructed and equipped with several automatic safeties, the pistol offers secure handling under all conditions, thanks in part to its aggressive structuring on the slide and frame, with a specially shaped grip end providing additional support with a small "lip." Each version of the PDP is equipped with an "optic ready" interface, allowing a variety of optics to be mounted thanks to corresponding adapter plates. The interface sits deep in the slide, enabling co-witnessing with many red dot sights already with the standard sights. The rear sight and front sight use the Glock standard - thus, personal optimization is not hindered.

All PDP models feature a stepped chamber, which ensures better guidance of the cartridge and a more efficient burn behavior - resulting in a cleaner and more precise shooting weapon. The slide stop lever is ambidextrous, and the magazine release button is standardly mounted on the left side but can also be converted.

The Walther PDP Steel Frame Fullsize Black Ribbon features a steel frame with plastic grip panels that are coarser than the standard version, and the "Dynamic Performance Trigger," which surpasses the service standard trigger in several aspects. With a clearly defined pressure point at 1,250g, the trigger breaks cleanly at 2,500g just like the standard trigger - but the take-up is even less, the overtravel shorter, and the reset further minimized. It is effectively a completely revised trigger with a straight trigger shoe optimized for sport shooting. An extended magazine release button is also installed, and micrometer sighting is used. The slide on the SF Black Ribbon is cut out, making it lighter - for faster shooting sequences. The standard magazine capacity is 18 rounds, and the main difference from the "Compact" model is found in the frame length: it is approximately 8mm longer. An 18-round magazine is slightly more compact with a shorter base - with this magazine, the weapon meets certain "box dimensions" according to various regulations!
