The ThermTec Ventus 635L is the smaller brother of the flagship 650L and is identical in construction except for the size of the thermal imaging objective lens. It is a 5-in-1 multispectral binocular that comfortably combines a thermal imaging device, night vision device, binoculars, laser rangefinder, and two IR illuminators in one device.

The ThermTec Ventus 635L combines state-of-the-art thermal imaging technology with a well-thought-out binocular design and is specifically designed for demanding observations in field areas and at long distances. The centerpiece is the high-resolution 640×512 thermal imaging sensor with a fine 12-µm pixel pitch, which delivers a high-contrast and detailed thermal image even in difficult weather conditions such as rain, fog, or strong winds.

Thanks to a NETD value of less than 15 mK, even minimal temperature differences are visible, allowing wildlife to stand out clearly and sharply from the background. With a detection range of up to 1,800 meters, the device is ideal for observation in open areas.

The integrated 5-in-1 multispectral system combines a thermal imaging camera, digital day and night mode, and a precise laser rangefinder in just one device. The LRF measures distances up to 1,000 meters with an accuracy of ±1 meter – all without additional accessories.

For brilliant image quality in the optical channel, the powerful 4K Ultra CMOS sensor with 12 megapixels and a resolution of 3,536x3,536 pixels ensures excellent performance. The display is provided by a high-resolution AMOLED display with 1,600 × 1,200 pixels, delivering a sharp and high-contrast image.

The ergonomic, binocular design allows for fatigue-free observation even over extended periods. This is supported by electronic image stabilization in three levels, which ensures a steadier image, especially at higher zoom levels.

The thermal imaging zoom range of 2.6x to 10.4x, as well as the optical zoom, allows for flexible observations at both short and long distances. The integrated dual IR illuminator can be switched between 850 nm and the nearly wildlife-invisible 940 nm mode using a toggle switch. Depending on the setting, ranges of up to 400 or 350 meters are possible, with the light cone being individually focusable.

In practical use, the Ventus 635L impresses with numerous thoughtful details: Two interchangeable 18650 batteries allow for up to six hours of runtime, while an integrated proximity sensor automatically deactivates the display as soon as the device is removed from the face. The dual focus wheels allow for comfortable one-handed operation, and thanks to individually adjustable diopters and customizable pupil distance, the binoculars can be optimally adjusted to the respective user. A robust physical toggle switch for off, standby, and operation also ensures intuitive handling – even with gloves or without visual contact with the device.
