The single-shot M99 from BARRETT is indeed a large-caliber rifle of a special kind. With a 32"-bull barrel and an overall length of 127 cm, this precision rifle does not fit into every gun cabinet. Due to its caliber, this single-shot rifle is also not suitable for every shooting range. The 3-chamber muzzle brake certainly does its best to minimize recoil during firing.
