The 3M Peltor ComTac VIII is currently one of the most modern tactical headsets from 3M. It reliably protects your hearing, improves auditory situational awareness (hearing ambient sounds and communication) even in very challenging environments with noise interference.

This hearing protection was developed for operational forces and military units and therefore offers Mission Audio Profiles - a special sound adjustment that improves speech intelligibility in noise, depending on the user environment (various presets selectable). This allows the hearing protection to be perfectly adapted to the respective noise environment. The special design of the ComTac VIII can also be worn in combination with blast helmets. The hearing protection is also improved, and in the special hearing protection plug mode, hearing in combination with hearing protection plugs can be enabled, providing additional protection against extremely loud noises if needed.

Hearing ambient sounds ("Talk-Through") is achieved through an integrated microphone that receives sounds outside the headset and transmits them to a speaker inside. The ComTac™ VIII features the latest 3M ambient microphones, positioned in a wider and deeper parabolic design for even more realistic environmental simulation. The integrated intelligent algorithm (level-dependent digital audio circuit) detects sound levels above the desired threshold, e.g., during gunfire, and compresses them to a "safe" decibel level. Weak sounds, on the other hand, are amplified to an audible level. The quality of this technology is crucial, and the ComTac VIII is among the most modern systems on the market.

This active premium hearing protection is also equipped with active shut-off (4 hrs.) and, of course, offers an external audio input for, for example, connecting a radio.
