The Hornady 12 Gauge 00 Buckshot Critical Defense is a load designed for maximum stopping power from a variety of weapon platforms and barrel lengths under all conditions. The shot cup is designed for use with all chokes and can also be used without any issues with full choke; the load also functions reliably in semi-automatics.

With a case length of 70mm, this shotgun cartridge can be used in almost all 12 gauge shotguns, as it is not a magnum load, shooting from older models is also possible without any problems. The 8 pellets, each with a diameter of approximately 8.38mm, maintain their good coverage even at greater distances, which is usually significant for shot, however, the respective legal situation must be observed when used for hunting.
