The DDoptics Nighteagle V8 2.5-20x56 NFX Supershort is a versatile hunting scope. As part of the NFX Premium series, this riflescope is among the best that the Saxon manufacturer has to offer. The Supershort is an extremely compact scope, which may be surprising given its name, designed to be used both for sitting hunts as well as at feeding sites or during driven hunts. Thanks to the large eye relief, it can also be used with heavy calibers. Its short length allows the scope to be mounted on short-barreled firearms with additional devices without putting too much strain on the scope mount.

The large field of view of up to 16m/100m allows for dynamic use at low magnification and provides an overview at high magnifications. The new CT lenses have excellent dispersion values, guaranteeing a sharp image with minimal stray light. The reticle adjustment features metal turrets with protective caps and a wide adjustment range. The elevation adjustment includes a quick reticle adjustment with a zero stop. Settings are made in 0.1 MRAD increments, and the click adjustment is firm, tactile, and knurled to give the shooter a good, secure feeling. The scaling on both adjustment turrets is double-rowed, allowing the ASV to be fully utilized in conjunction with the 20x magnification.

The reticle 4N is a revision of the classic reticle 4 with a slim crosshair – the thick bars cover just 2cm at 100m, while the slim crosshair covers only 0.9cm at 100m. The aiming point is illuminated and can optionally be ordered as an iFiber illumination unit. iFiber offers automatic on and off switching of the illuminated point via tilt and motion sensors.
