The Ruger SR1911 Lightweight is a modern 1911 pistol equipped with an aluminum frame and a feed ramp made of titanium. The grip panels are made of G10 and feature a non-slip texture. As a full-size pistol, it meets the "Government" standard.

Like all SR1911 models, it corresponds to the classic Colt 1911 in form and function but features a few modern improvements and is, of course, manufactured with modern alloys and production methods. The extended safety and the extended beavertail - the palm safety - as well as the skeletonized hammer and trigger are contemporary adaptations. Manufactured on CNC machines, the weapon impresses with very good fittings and a play-free barrel lock in the guide sleeve. All SR1911 models also feature an enlarged ejection port and an inspection opening for the loading status. The trigger is made of aluminum and the firing pin is made of titanium, which, together with the skeletonized hammer, ensures shorter ignition times. Compatible with most 1911 accessories, this pistol meets the tried-and-true standard.
