The SFP9X A1 OR (Crossover Optic Ready) from Heckler & Koch is a modern single action pistol with a fully pre-tensioned trigger system in caliber 9mm Luger. Based on the proven SFP9, the A1 features innovations that better meet the changing demands of the law enforcement market than the "classic" SFP9. The ergonomics have been revised, the finger grooves in the grip have been removed, and the slide now has significantly more loading grooves. However, the interchangeable backstraps and side panels have been retained, allowing the shooter to optimize the weapon for their hand "out of the box." An integrated magazine funnel in the grip facilitates reloading, and the bases of the new magazines with increased capacity are now also textured to simplify reloading with gloves or wet/clammy hands. The magazines are backward compatible with the SFP9 & P30 - but the "old" magazines are too short to be used in the A1.

The rest of the design and controls conform to the SFP9 standard, featuring the popular SF trigger with a short reset. As an "Optical Ready" variant, the weapon can naturally be equipped with various red dot sights via adapter plates. The pistol can be disassembled and reassembled without tools in a contemporary manner. The low hand position is optimal for a precise shot pattern even during rapid fire sequences. The Heckler und Koch model SFP9X A1 is a "Crossover" model, meaning it has a full-size grip and a compact slide, designed as an all-rounder with good handling but moderate weight and size.
