The Springfield Kuna is a new PCC (pistol caliber carbine) from HS Produkts. Produced in Croatia and distributed to civilians by Springfield USA, this carbine is a modern and lightweight rifle in caliber 9mm Luger. Originally designed as a military PDW, a compact submachine gun, this model with a 12" barrel is a semi-automatic rifle.

The special feature of the design is a delayed roller lock, similar to the famous weapons from HK, especially the MP5. Due to this locking mechanism, the weapon exhibits a more pleasant recoil behavior and feels more comfortable to shoot than a PCC with a pure, undamped mass lock.

The complete upper receiver is made from a single piece of aluminum, with a continuous Picatinny rail at 12 o'clock and 2 rows of M-LOK interfaces on each side as well as one row at 6 o'clock. From the factory, the weapon comes with an adjustable-length, non-folding stock, a compensator on the 1/2"x28 muzzle thread, and a grip with fully ambidextrous controls. The grip is AR15 compatible, and the charging handle can be converted to both sides and is non-reciprocating. Integrated into the Picatinny rail is, similar to the VHS-2S from the same manufacturer, a folding sight with adjustment options and diopter - but this time also with a simple notch and post backup sight in the folded position. The trigger features a distinct pressure point and reset and is equipped with a straight trigger shoe.

And as a special bonus: Each Kuna is delivered with 3 pieces of 10-round magazines. The magazines are a unique design, so there are no issues with existing handguns. Those wondering why the weapon is named after the former Croatian currency: "Kuna" is Croatian for the marten, the heraldic animal of Croatia.

HS Produkts is the manufacturer, Springfield Armory is the international distributor. We do not yet know whether HS or Springfield will be marked on the weapon, and we cannot influence this! In any case, it is the same weapon manufactured in Croatia.
