The new break-action rifle Merkel K5: Slimmer, more agile, and according to Merkel, a tick more beautiful than its predecessors K3 and K4. Extreme version with fluted barrel. The Merkel K5 is trimmed for dynamic elegance – and yet 100 percent functional. The newly defined line of the rifle stretches from the buttstock over the forend extended with fine rosewood to the particularly slender action and the 17 mm slim and fluted barrel like a big cat in mid-leap. Brilliant technology in a new look-and-feel: The tipping block is extremely short and locks steel on steel in typical Merkel fashion. Technical finesse, new line from stock, system, and barrel, as well as refined functionality: In total, a rifle with only 2.3 kilograms net weight and in top dimensions. The removable tipping block lock is the heart of the K5: It locks steel on steel, is extremely light, short, and safe. The titanium-nitrided locking block is removable, making the weapon quickly and easily non-firing. The locking system with removable hunter tipping block lock features a separate manual safety. The new manual safety operates completely silently and is even easier to use – almost no force is needed in the finger anymore. The revised trigger system is length and side adjustable. With a trigger weight of only 600 g and a wider trigger blade, the titanium-nitrided fine trigger of the Merkel K5 can be easily operated with any finger and hand shape. Pistol grip, forend, and patent catch are elegantly finished with ebony. The buttstock of wood class 4 features removable sling swivels and a Bavarian cheek piece with double fold. The fluted barrel with a diameter of 17 mm has the removable universal sighting i-Sight system with covered M15x1 muzzle thread. With a single inner hex screw, the rear sight and front sight can be disassembled, and the front sight can also be repositioned – depending on whether shooting with a silencer, without sights, or with a muzzle brake. The sling swivels are equipped with the new Merkel Speedster system and are thus also removable. Lady DS stock Completely new, specially developed stock for smaller or female hunters in various wood classes. The stock is not only shorter but also straight, with little drop and a high comb that extends the sight line almost horizontally. The stock cap has been adapted to female anatomy: A steep pistol grip allows for relaxed operation of the trigger even with small hands.
