ThermTec Wild 650L Pro

The thermal imaging device Wild 650L Pro with integrated laser rangefinder from ThermTec is the optimized device from the Wild series with a larger detection range.The optimizations that ThermTec has made in the Pro update for its Wild thermal imaging monoculars include, among other things, the NETD value, which stands for even better thermal differentiation, and the display, which makes use even more comfortable. In addition, the Wild 650L Pro device with the integrated laser rangefinder delivers precise images and data for the perfect shot. The powerful and precise instrument is lightweight and compact. The sensor with a large detection range, the 4x zoom, and the intuitive operation make it the ideal hunting companion. With its compact dimensions and a weight with battery of 540 g, it can be conveniently carried at all times.

The Sensor
The Wild 650L Pro is equipped with a sensitive thermal imaging sensor with a resolution of 640x512 px, the pixel pitch is 12 µm, and the NETD value has been improved to ≤15 mK. This guarantees very good thermal differentiation performance. The frame rate is 50 Hz, providing clear, detailed, and high-contrast images. The detection range of the monocular is 2,600 m. With its 50 mm lens, it has a field of view of 15.4 m at 100 m.

The Display
The AMOLED display has been enlarged from 0.39" to 0.50" and now has a resolution of 1,600x1,200 px. It features a picture-in-picture function that shows a zoomed image of the observation object in a frame when needed, without losing sight of the overall view. Depending on individual needs and hunting situations, there is the option to choose from 6 color palettes: white-hot, black-hot, red-hot, green, gold, and violet. Additionally, a target outline mode is available. Sharpness, noise, brightness, and contrast can be manually adjusted in 10 levels. An electronic image stabilization ensures steady observation, even when hands tremble in cold weather or after significant exertion. Image correction can be done automatically and manually. A self-learning and adaptive AI technology optimizes the image algorithm with each correction. The menu symbols can be disabled during video recording. As soon as disturbances from external light sources occur, the Wild 650L Pro device automatically activates an anti-burn protection.

The Device
The Wild 650L Pro impresses with its excellent haptics. It fits well in the hand, which does not cramp even during prolonged use. The controls placed on the top are intuitively operable equally with both left and right hands, allowing for quick navigation to all functions. Difficult environmental conditions are no problem during observation; the device's housing is made of a magnesium alloy with a rubber coating, making it dust and waterproof according to IP67. The F0.9 lens of the Wild 650L Pro increases light intake compared to the usual F1.0 lenses.

The Laser Rangefinder
With the integrated AI-supported laser rangefinder of safety class 1 in the Wild 650L Pro device, distances to multiple targets can be determined with a single measurement in the "multi-target distance" option. The laser has a wavelength of 905 nm. The maximum measuring range is 1,000 m with a measurement accuracy of ±1 m.

The Operating Time
The replaceable Li-ion 18650 battery allows for continuous operation of the Wild 650L Pro thermal imaging device for up to 8 hours, depending on the activated features. The battery is easy to replace in no time. Charging is done in the included charger. A spare battery is included in the delivery.

Camera and Connectivity

Internal memory has a capacity of 64 GB. Using the ThermTec Outdoor App – available for iOS and Android – the thermal imaging device connects to the smartphone via an integrated hotspot. Images and videos are transmitted in real-time to the monitors of mobile devices, and the Wild 650L Pro can also be controlled remotely through it. When directly connected to the computer via USB cable, the latest software updates are downloaded and installed.
