Monitoring Year 2022/23

The Wildlife Information System of the German States (WILD) is a nationwide monitoring program that collects data on the occurrence, population density, and development of wildlife. WILD is a project of the Deutscher Jagdverband e.V. (DJV) and its state hunting associations. Since 2001, it has been a permanent component of ecological environmental monitoring. The main goal is to document wildlife populations in order to develop strategies for the conservation and sustainable use of wildlife.

The results of the previous data collections are published in detail in the WILD annual reports (https://www.jagdverband.de/downloads/wild-berichte). The current report documents the results of the hunting year 2022/23 over 68 pages. It contains detailed distribution maps, diagrams, and brief information for all recorded species. This provides important insights into the distribution and population development of 13 wildlife species in Germany.
