A quality product from Grenzenlos-Schuhwerk Oberstdorf - the hunting and mountain shoe specialist from the Allgäu. Highest quality: A Goodyear-welted and robust leather half shoe in traditional craftsmanship. The shoe is made from high-quality 2 mm thick hydrophobized cowhide leather (= the tanning process makes the leather water-repellent). The leather has no unnecessary seams and is therefore almost waterproof in its waxed state. The collar of the shoe is softly padded, and the lining is completely made of calf leather without seams in the heel area. The inner sole of the shoe is a firmly integrated 2 mm thick leather insole, and an additional thin leather heel padding is built in. The upper leather is reinforced at the welt with a leather band, which gives the shoe additional torsional rigidity and stability, as well as emphasizing the robust appearance. Grippy Vibram sole: The construction includes a 2 mm leather insole sewn as a midsole. The extremely robust Vibram 'Breithorn profile sole' with a strong and grippy 8mm tread depth is used as the outsole. This robust sole can be renewed by any good shoemaker if necessary. A more modern sole variant was intentionally omitted for good reason, and this extremely proven tread sole was used to ensure that resole options are available anytime and anywhere.
Exclusive: The leather half shoe BIRGSAU is exclusively manufactured for Grenzenlos-Schuhwerk in Oberstdorf (Allgäu) in a shoe factory in Italy. The shoe is only available at Grenzenlos-Schuhwerk in Oberstdorf and in the DJV shop. It is pure, valuable handcrafted work for the enthusiastic leather shoe wearer. The best for a pleasant shoe climate in every season and occasion. Size and fit: The shoe is available in full sizes 39-48. The shoe has a comfortable width overall. It is not tightly cut, allowing the shoe to be worn with good (wool) socks during transitional and winter seasons. If you normally wear shoe size 43, the shoe should also be ordered in 43. Wearers with a narrow foot can later equip the shoe with a thin additional leather footbed insert. Weight: The weight of this robust, sturdy shoe is around 760 grams (shoe size 42). It reflects its stable yet easy-to-wear quality. The shoe is made entirely of leather and a good Vibram profile sole.
The hydrophobized leather of the shoe is already water-repellent due to the tanning process. We recommend treating the shoe with shine shoe wax before the first wear and then continuously. Care is particularly easy with our affordable four-part professional shoe wax set!
