Cookbook "Saarland Hunter's Kitchen II"

The book "Saarländische Jägerküche II" is an expanded new edition of the cookbook published in 2019 by VJS with over 40 new recipes! On 172 pages, Saarländische Jägerküche II contains over 100 recipes for soups, appetizers, main courses, and desserts featuring game dishes. The focus is on recipes for big game such as deer, wild boar, and red and fallow deer. Hare, rabbit, pheasant, and ringdove are also included! A significant section is dedicated to the new chapter: "Game on the Grill." Wild burgers, steaks and skewers, fillets, spit-roasted dishes, and many variations of grilled vegetables and suitable salads are described and illustrated with vivid images. The side dishes and desserts reflect the typical Saarland cuisine. Potato dishes like Schneebällchen and Gereeschde, bean and dandelion salad, as well as plum tart, muffins, and much more are included in the new cookbook. All dishes have been cooked in the author's home kitchen with the support of his wife or during joint cooking courses at the adult education center with VJS, photographed in individual work steps, and described in the recipe section. The landscape photographs included in the book showcase the beauty and diversity of our Saarland homeland. Author Dr. Wolfgang Dörrenbächer, a member of the board of the Saarland Hunting Association, has been an enthusiastic amateur cook for many years and leads game cooking courses. He has combined his practical experience as a hunter, his knowledge as a biogeographer, and his love for local cuisine in this beautiful cookbook "Saarländische Jägerküche II."
