Guide for hunting leaders and dog handlers Hunting dogs are beloved family members, indispensable for animal welfare, and very valuable due to their long training and many tests. Without useful dogs, an efficient and animal welfare-compliant hunt is not possible. However, especially in wolf areas, dog handlers expose their diligent helpers to further danger. In Sweden, numerous dogs are injured or killed by wolves each year during hunting activities. This leaflet provides information on precautions, offers tips on behavior, and clarifies what to do in the event of an encounter with the ancestor of all dogs.
