The H&N Hornet in caliber 5.5 mm (.22) is a medium-weight hunting projectile specifically designed for the highest demands on penetration power and energy transfer. The most distinctive feature is the hard-worked brass tip embedded in the lead body. This ensures superior aerodynamics and massive depth effect on target. Whether for pest control or demanding can shooting – the Hornet offers performance that is significantly above that of standard diabolo pellets.
Superior ballistics & destructive power

By combining an aerodynamic lead body with the pointed brass cap, the projectile stabilizes quickly in flight. This allows for a stretched trajectory and high precision at medium distances. Upon impact, the brass tip acts like a wedge, carrying energy deep into the target medium before the lead body causes the necessary deformation. This makes the Hornet one of the most effective hunting bullets in its weight class.
Precision for powerful air rifles

With a weight of 1.05 grams (16.20 gr), the Hornet in caliber .22 requires a certain amount of energy to unleash its full effect. H&N recommends using it in air rifles with a muzzle energy of at least 16 Joules. In powerful PCP weapons (pre-compressed air rifles), it excels with consistent muzzle velocities and tight groupings, making it interesting for Field Target training as well.
