The Sauer 505 Synchro XTC repeating rifle with the high-quality carbon stock in the Highland equipment package is a stylish and functional rifle for the highest demands. The Sauer 505 Synchro XTC rifle impresses with its adjustable and recoil-reducing carbon stock. Other features in the pre-configured Highland equipment package include the durable DLC coating on the barrel, housing, and chamber, a fluted barrel, and the subtly knurled chamber handle.
The Stock
The carbon stock gives the Sauer 505 rifle high stability and excellent ergonomics, ensuring extremely comfortable mounting, aiming, and shooting in any shooting position. The steep grip and the palm swell, combined with the height-adjustable comb, provide optimal contact for any optical system. The stock length is 36.5 mm. Carbon is very lightweight yet robust, but its most important feature is its damping property, which maximally compensates for recoil. With the Sauer 505 Synchro XTC Silence rifle, the shooting hand remains completely relaxed, significantly increasing the hit rate.
The Steel Housing with DLC Coating
The solid steel housing allows for quiet cycling due to reduced friction losses and a smooth chambering process. The surfaces of the housing and even the chamber are coated with a DLC coating. DLC stands for "Diamond Like Carbon." This type of coating is very environmentally friendly and biocompatible compared to galvanic coatings. Through a thin-film coating process, the coated components are made particularly resistant and very smooth. The chamber handle is subtly knurled in the Highland version.
The Manual Safety
The manual safety is both comfortable and secure. The Sauer 505 model has seen advancements over its predecessor models in terms of both usability and safety. A longer cocking travel requires even less effort. With a light thumb pressure, you can cock the rifle just before the shot, and it can be relaxed just as easily afterward to perform the unloading.
The Trigger
The Sauer 505 repeater features a Quattro trigger with four weight settings, breaking cleanly at the precisely individually suited trigger weight. Settings of 350 g, 750 g, 1,000 g, and 1,250 g are possible. The adjustment is made with the Sauer universal key while the fore-end is uncocked.
The Magazine
The polymer magazine is designed for the chosen calibers and holds 2, 3, or 5 cartridges depending on the version. An unintentional release of the magazine button is prevented by the integrated magazine safety MagLock.
The Barrel
The cold-hammered barrel of the Sauer 505 rifle is fluted in the Highland configuration. This offers the advantage that the increased surface area of the barrel due to the fluting dissipates heat more quickly, preventing disturbing mirage even during rapid fire sequences. Another advantage of the fluting is weight reduction. The muzzle is equipped with an M15x1 thread for a suppressor. It is without sights, and its length is between 47 cm and 62 cm, depending on the caliber and your choice. The barrel of the Sauer 505 Highland is effectively protected against corrosion by a DLC coating, just like its other steel surfaces.
