The left-handed version of the 505 Synchro XT Black bolt-action rifle from Sauer in the robust Outback configuration – for use under all hunting conditions. The pre-configured Outback equipment package of the Sauer 505 Synchro XT hunting rifle impresses with its DLC coating on the housing and barrel, as well as the chamber grip ball made of anodized aluminum. These features make the rifle ready for the toughest hunting conditions. It is designed here for left-handed shooters.
The stock
The ergonomic design of the polymer thumbhole stock Synchro XT Black brings elegance and dynamics into a symbiosis and immediately catches the eye. With the height-adjustable stock comb, the stock can be adjusted to personal physical needs when aiming and shooting. The thumbhole is optimally placed, keeping the shooting hand relaxed at all times. The stock length is 36.5 mm. Polymer is a lightweight and extremely durable plastic, just right for an all-weather rifle.
The steel housing with DLC coating
The solid steel housing allows for quieter cycling due to reduced friction losses and a smooth chambering. The surfaces of the housing are coated with a DLC coating. DLC stands for “Diamond Like Carbon.” This type of coating is very environmentally friendly and biocompatible compared to galvanic coatings. Through a thin-film coating process, the coated components are particularly resistant and very smooth. The chamber grip ball is made of anodized aluminum in the Outback version.
The manual safety
The manual safety is comfortable and secure at the same time. The Sauer 505 model has undergone further development compared to its predecessor models, both in terms of usability and safety. A longer cocking travel requires even less effort. With a light thumb pressure, the rifle is cocked just before the shot, and the relaxation afterwards is just as convenient to perform the unloading.
The trigger
The Sauer 505 bolt-action rifle features a Quattro trigger with four weight settings. The trigger breaks crystal clear at the precisely individually suitable trigger weight. Settings of 350 g, 750 g, 1,000 g, and 1,250 g are possible. The adjustment is made with the Sauer universal key while the fore-end is uncocked.
The magazine
The polymer magazine is designed for the chosen calibers and holds 2, 3, or 5 cartridges depending on the version. An unintentional release of the magazine button is prevented by the integrated magazine safety MagLock.
The barrel
The Sauer 505 bolt-action rifle is equipped with a cold-hammered barrel without sights. This allows for highly precise shots. The muzzle is fitted with an M15x1 thread for a suppressor. It has a smooth profile, and its length ranges – depending on the caliber and personal choice – between 42 cm and 62 cm. The barrel is effectively protected against corrosion by a DLC coating, just like the other steel surfaces.
