The GLOCK 17 Gen5 FS FR Coyote is a full-size pistol in caliber 9 mm Luger and is based on the proven Gen5 platform. In this version, it combines the technical features of the G17 Gen5 with a coyote-colored frame and military-grade equipment. This variant is explicitly referred to by GLOCK as "G17 Gen5 FR Coyote". Gen5 features include the GLOCK Marksman Barrel, the durable nDLC finish of the black slide, front serrations, the ambidextrous slide stop lever, and the enlarged and reversible magazine catch. The flared magazine well supports quick magazine changes, while the grip without finger grooves allows for a more flexible hand adjustment. The FR-Coyote version adds to this base a coyote-colored frame, luminescent steel U-shaped sights, a lanyard loop, and an extended slide lock. Several sources describe this model as the civilian version of the French service pistol configuration.
