Sauer 505 Iconic

The 505 repeater from Sauer with the Iconic stock in wood class 2, 3, or 4 is a contemporary hunting rifle for all occasions.This model is the base version of the Sauer 505 Iconic with the ergonomic stock made of walnut – optionally available in wood classes 2, 3, or 4 – featuring the proven 505 system made of steel and a barrel in the length and caliber of your choice.

The Stock
The Iconic stock from Sauer is a two-part stock made of walnut, available in wood classes 2, 3, or 4, finished with a polished surface. The stock impresses with its thoughtful ergonomics and aesthetics alike. The steep pistol grip with a pronounced palmswell and the optimally sized thumbhole allow the shooting hand and arm to remain in a relaxed state, enabling an intuitive shooting position. The straight stock back transitions into a curved, flowing line towards the cheek piece. The fore-end also has a slightly curved shape, which is accentuated by a drop nose made of black ebony. The checkering pattern on the grip surfaces feels pleasant to the touch. The length of pull is 36.5 cm, and it is finished with a recoil-absorbing cap in black.

The System
The solid steel housing of the 505 allows for a smooth chambering and quiet cycling due to reduced friction. The surfaces of the housing are plasma nitrided. The hand tension of the 505 is comfortable and safe. A longer tensioning path requires even less effort. With a light thumb pressure, the rifle is cocked just before the shot and then released to perform the discharge. The Sauer 505 features a Quattro trigger with four weight settings. Thus, the trigger breaks cleanly at the precisely individually suitable trigger weight. Settings of 350 g, 750 g, 1,000 g, and 1,250 g are possible. The adjustment is made with the Sauer universal key while the fore-end is removed. Depending on the caliber, the magazine can have a capacity of 2 or 3 rounds and 5 rounds, as well as options for plastic or lightweight metal bases.

The Barrel
The Sauer 505 repeater rifle in the Outback configuration is equipped with a cold-hammered barrel. This allows for highly precise shots. The muzzle is fitted with an M15x1 thread for a suppressor. It is without sights and has the option of a smooth profile or a fluted design. The fluting offers the advantage of an increased surface area of the barrel, which dissipates heat more quickly, preventing disturbing mirage even during rapid fire sequences. Another advantage of the fluting is weight reduction. The length of the barrel ranges – depending on choice and caliber – between 42 cm and 62 cm. It is plasma nitrided and blued.
