CCI FMJ 20grs 50pcs .17HMR

CCI FMJ 20grs 50St
The CCI .17 HMR FMJ (Full Metal Jacket) is a specialty ammunition for hunters who want to utilize the precision of the .17 HMR without the massive destructive power of typical varmint bullets. The 20 Grains full metal jacket bullet is slightly heavier than the standard (17grs) and penetrates the target without expanding or bursting. This makes it the perfect choice for hunting fur-bearing animals (fox, marten, ferret), where the pelt should remain intact, or for precise target shooting, where clean holes are desired. If you want to buy pelt-friendly .17 HMR ammunition, the FMJ is the only logical option.

Application & Target Group (EN)
Non-fragmenting bullet for special tasks.

Winter hunting (Pelt): While V-Max or TNT often tear large exits, the FMJ only leaves caliber-sized entry and exit wounds. The pelt is maximally preserved. Important: Precise hits (heart/brain) are necessary, as the shock effect is lower.
Kitchen hunting (Goose/Rabbit): Ideal for headshots on game that is to be utilized. No "soaking" of the game meat.
Training: The heavier 20grs bullet is often less affected by wind and delivers excellent precision at 100 meters.

Recommendations for Distance
Somewhat curved trajectory compared to 17grs:

Sport shooting (Precision): Optimized for 100 meters.
Zeroing (Zero): 100 meters spot shooting.
Maximum effective range: Up to 150 meters. Due to the higher weight, it retains energy well but drops off slightly more than the 17grs loads.

FAQ
Does it kill reliably?
Yes, but only with vital hits. It forgives fewer bad shots than varmint bullets.
Is it more precise than V-Max?
It depends on the barrel. Some barrels (e.g., with 1:9 twist) stabilize the heavier 20grs bullets better.

Conclusion / Purchase Argument
The CCI .17 HMR FMJ is the scalpel for the fur hunter. Those who want the pelt must load FMJ.
